What does a SwRI 95-03 test mean?
The SwRI 91-03 test, conducted by the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in San Antonio Texas, this involves exposing the test tank to high-intensity (1000 deg C) fire for 4 hours while ensuring the primary tank temperature does not exceed 100 deg C (Approx). This is followed by a hose stream test identical to a fire fighting scenario, then a ballistics test with a 30 calibre rifle and a simulated heavy vehicle impact test. Once these tests are passed the tank undergoes a final 2 hour fire test with the same criteria as the 4 hour fire test.
